5 – Penalties

6.1 – Protests

     6.1.1 – Live stewards investigate incidents during and post-race and distribute penalties as required

     6.1.2 – Penalties applied during the race can be chosen by stewards could a drive through, stop and go, post race time penalty or disqualification

     6.1.3 – Penalties applied post race can be chosen by stewards. These could be time penalties or disqualifications

     6.1.4 – Investigations will focus primarily around the positions competing for prizes

 

6.2 – Driving Standards

     6.2.1 – Drivers should maintain their normal racing line when there are drivers who are approaching to lap them

     6.2.2 – When a driver has another driver approaching within the same car class, looking to lap them, the lead driver must facilitate the pass by lifting off the throttle on one of the next two straights before the braking zones once the driver behind moves within .5 of a second

     6.2.3 – Drivers should not weave when there is a car within 2 car lengths behind them

     6.2.4 – Drivers should not use track cutting exploits such as using the pitlane entry on the final lap of the race to gain an advantage. The stewards will grant a suitable penalty for the amount of time gained by the exploit

     6.2.5 – Drivers should leave a car width’s to the edge of the circuit when they have a car alongside them. Leniency may be given in circumstances where the track extension does not cause a disadvantage

     6.2.6 – Other actions that can warrant a penalty include but are not exclusive to:

          6.2.6.1 – Forcing a driver to take evasive action, even if contact is not made

          6.2.6.2 – Blocking in reaction to an attempted overtake

          6.2.6.3 – Forcing another driver to change their line by moving slightly before or in the braking area

          6.2.6.4 – Attempting a reckless manoeuvre

          6.2.6.5 – Rejoining the track in an unsafe manner

          6.2.6.6 – Brake checking

          6.2.6.7 – Not escaping back to the pits when stationary in a dangerous part of the track

          6.2.6.8 – Causing a collision due to attempting to drive an excessively damaged car

 

6.3 – Intentional Wrecking

     6.3.1 – Intentional wrecking during the race will result in a driver being banned from the future Racing Unleashed Challenges. They may be banned indefinitely from all future Racing Unleashed events

 

6.4 – Driver Conduct

     6.4.1 – Drivers are susceptible to penalties should they direct abuse to other drivers on the iRacing voice or text channels or on discord. Abuse could be in the form of racism, harassment, personal insults, inappropriate language and/or anything else the admin team deems to be unacceptable

     6.4.2 – Racing Unleashed reserve the right not to allow drivers into the series who could have a negative impact on the league

     6.4.3 – Racing Unleashed reserve the right to remove drivers with poor driving standards from future Racing Unleashed Challenges. They may also not be invited back to any future Racing Unleashed seasons or events
