Last week in the Apex Racing League paddock

w/c 17TH May 2021

As always, the airwaves of Apex Racing TV have been alive with the sound of virtual horsepower. From the long drags of Monza, to the perilous streets of Long Beach, the Apex Racing League paddock has visited the world’s finest circuits on the leading driving simulator – iRacing.com.

Here is a recap of all of last weeks action

Apex Racing League GT Trophy

Back by popular demand, the Apex Racing League GT Trophy returned for a second season. Based on driver feedback, a packed field of GT3 machines took to the grid at Monza for the opening round of the season. Valkyrie Esports announced their arrival loud and clear by locking out the front row. However, defending champion Gaetan Anger wasn’t going to let the Belgian outfit steal all the headlines. An intriguing strategical battle ensued, setting up a tantalising battle for the season.

Apex Racing Academy Porsche Cup

Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta has hosted some of Porsche’s greatest achievements, including an outright victory for the 911 RSR in 2015 against the might of prototype machinery. Road Atlanta’s unforgiving contours expose greatness and punish mediocrity. Williams Esports’ Josh Thompson’s greatness was laid bare on Wednesday with a stunning drive to a feature race win in round three of the Apex Racing Academy Porsche Cup. Although Thompson is a late arrival to the series, his pace may be enough to chase down Kamil Grabowski and steal the Pole’s crown.

Apex Racing League Touring Car Championship

A notoriously fragile Audi RS3 LMS and the unforgiving concrete walls on the streets of Long Beach whipped up the trepidation amongst the ARLTC paddock on Thursday. With three rounds to go, Kieran Harrison and Mark Woodhouse appeared comfortable atop the championship. Long Beach had other ideas. Find out how they fared via Apex Racing TV on demand

Wave Italy ARL Prototype Championship

A race into the depth of night at Spa-Francorchamps provided a stern challenge for drivers in the ever-popular Wave Italy prototype championship. Once again, the thrills came in the P2 AM class. A spectacular duel between championship rivals Tim Perry and Kieran Smart gave plenty to chew on as the second half of the season begins.

Apex Racing Academy F3 VRS Super Series

A thrilling championship struggle between Paulo Draeta, Will Redford and Qio-Tiago Marteau rumbled on at Silverstone on Saturday. While Paulo Draeta cleared off with the spoils in both races, drama ensued behind with a controversial incident at the club chicane on lap one of the meeting. Both drivers faced a long climb back up the order. See how they did it by checking out the race replay.
