After a popular opening season, ARL Touring Car Britain is back in 2026! Using the reworked TCR cars on BTCC circuits, the series is hosted on Thursday evenings and broadcast from the Apex Racing TV Esports studio!
Rounds are held on the Thursday before the IRL BTCC meeting, mostly on the same tracks. With Croft still not being added to the sim, Oscherleben is set to substitute thanks to its inclusion in the iRacing base content and similarities to British circuits. We have decided to utilise the full versions of both Silverstone and Oulton Park as they will be more fun to drive and better for racing compared to their abbreviated counterparts.
Drivers compete in one of 3 driver divisions, pro, pro am or am and earn prizes for their championship position in each. Rounds are held on the Thursday before each real life event, feature a 30 minute qualifying and three 20 minute races, the last of which has a reverse grid of between 6 and 12 positions (just like BTCC). To match the real life series, bonus points are awarded for pole positions, fastest laps and for leading a lap during a race. Due to the length of the season, drivers are afforded two drop rounds. Rain is a risk at every round with drivers being provided an approximate forecast a few days prior to each event.
The top 3 in each division win trophies as well as hundreds of pounds worth of Apex Racing Academy subscriptions. Every round of the series is broadcast on Apex Racing TV’s YouTube channel live from the Apex Racing Esports Studio by Sam Fitzpatrick and David Sampson (Sampsoid)! They will be covering qualifying as well as the race(s) with their SDK Gaming overlay and live timing, 3D track maps and interview drivers post race.
The introduction of the Audi RS3 LMS Gen2 TCR as well as the complete TCR refresh in the iRacing 2026 Season 2 build makes this the perfect time to get into touring cars!
