Hey guys,
After more testing and more information being released from Codemasters regarding the issue of Equal Cars online we are happy to say there is no bug.
The cars are absolutely equal in terms of grip, performance, down force, braking levels and everything else in that respect. The difference comes from the wheel bases. This does alter the way the cars handle and perform with certain set-ups but with slight tweaks to a set-up you should be able to get the same times as any other car. This was also the case in the 2010 game but due to the handling model being less complex it wasn't as noticeable.
So we retract our previous statement advising drivers not to use the Renault and the Toro Rosso. Drivers do not have to switch back to these cars if they don't want to, but rest assured there is no hindrance from using these cars. The changes needed from car to car seem to focus on Balance (Roll Bars) and Camber. Changes to these 2 settings should make the same times capable in all cars.
This could actually make our championship more interesting as it prevent drivers from simply taking another drivers set-up from the set-up forum. Now at least they may have to do a little work to adapt it to their car and get the best out of it.
